Frequently Asked Questions

What is non-anesthetic pet dental cleaning?

Non-anesthetic dental cleaning is a gentle, awake dental service where we manually remove visible plaque and tartar from the surface of your pet’s teeth using professional tools without anesthesia or sedation. It is designed for pets who qualify and can tolerate the process comfortably.

Does this replace a dental cleaning under anesthesia?

No. This service does not replace a full veterinary dental procedure under anesthesia. Veterinary dental cleanings include dental x-rays, deep cleaning below the gumline, and the ability to perform extractions if needed.

Non-anesthetic cleaning focuses on visible tartar and oral hygiene support for pets who qualify.

Is it safe for my pet?

Yes

when the pet is an appropriate candidate. Our top priority is safety and comfort. We never force a pet through the service. If your pet becomes too stressed or unsafe to continue, we stop.

Will my pet feel pain?

The process is designed to be gentle and stress-minimized. However, pets with advanced dental disease can be sensitive. If we notice signs of pain or discomfort, we will pause or discontinue the cleaning and recommend veterinary care.

How long does the appointment take?

Most cleanings take 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on tartar level, pet size, and cooperation. Some appointments may be shorter if your pet needs breaks or does not tolerate the service.

Do you clean under the gumline?

No. Without anesthesia we are limited. We focus on visible tartar removal and polishing (if offered).

Deep periodontal cleaning below the gumline requires anesthesia and veterinary equipment.

Can you diagnose dental disease or infections?

We do not diagnose medical conditions. We can provide an oral observation and let you know if we see signs that may require a veterinarian (such as severe inflammation, heavy infection, or loose teeth).

Do you remove loose teeth or do extractions?

No. We do not perform extractions or remove loose teeth. If we observe loose teeth or severe periodontal disease, we will recommend a veterinary dental exam and cleaning under anesthesia.

What pets are good candidates for this service?

Great candidates typically:

Great candidates typically:

  • Have mild to moderate tartar
  • Allow gentle handling of the mouth
  • Do not have severe mobility/advanced disease
  • Can remain calm with breaks
What pets are NOT good candidates?

This service may not be suitable for pets with:

  • Severe periodontal disease heavy infection
  • Very loose teeth
  • Painful mouths
  • Pets requiring extractions or x-rays
  • Highly aggressive or extremely fearful pets

If your pet is not a candidate, we’ll be honest and guide you in the right direction.

What if my pet doesn't cooperate?

No worries it happens! Some pets simply cannot tolerate an awake dental cleaning. If your pet becomes too stressed, anxious, or reactive, we may need to stop the service. In those cases, we may recommend a veterinary dental cleaning under anesthesia.

Is the service stressful?

Our approach is calm, patient, and comfort-first. We take breaks and go at your pet’s pace. Every pet is different and we respect that.

We also welcome families who prefer a gentle, low-sensory environment and a kind, inclusive experience.

Does my pet need vaccines or a vet exam before booking?

We strongly recommend pets be up-to-date on routine veterinary care. If your pet has known health conditions or oral pain, it’s best to consult your veterinarian first

Will you make my pet's teeth white?

We remove tartar and polish when appropriate. Results vary depending on:

  • tartar severity
  • staining
  • tooth structure
  • cooperation

Some staining may remain even after tartar is removed.

Can you clean a pet with severe tartar?

Sometimes we can improve the appearance, but severe tartar often comes with advanced gum disease that may require anesthesia dental cleaning and extractions. We will always prioritize safety and recommend the best option for your pet.

Will tartar come back?

Yes tartar can return over time. The best way to slow it down is:

  • regular dental cleanings (maintenance)
  • brushing at home
  • dental chews / vet-approved products
  • quality diet & routine vet care
Do you offer mobile service?

Yes! We are fully mobile and come to you. We serve Orlando and surrounding areas (travel fees may apply depending on distance).

How do I book?

You can book through our website, message us, or text/call. We’ll ask a few quick questions to confirm your pet is a good candidate.
